The Marathon Fire Department has started a youth reading program called Blazing a Trail for Literacy. Members of the fire department will visit Marathon Area Elementary School and St. Mary’s School and read to 1st and 2nd graders. The program will challenge students to read at home. The student from each class who reads the most minutes in the contest will get to have breakfast with Firefighters and get a ride to school on a fire truck.
