On Thursday, November 20, the Village Board approved the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Marathon Fire Station project.  The RFP will be released to a number of identified firms and will be published in the Record Review.

RFP responses will be submitted to the Village by January 7, 2009.  A firm will be selected based on the responses and the project is planned for referendum in April.

• Recommending rules and procedures for negotiating the purchase, or sale, of real property by the village.
• Discussion of draft request for proposals for architecture, engineering and construction management services for a new fire station.

The Marathon Fire Department held it’s annual open house during Labor Day weekend this year. The date change was well received and the event was well attended. The Volunteer Firefighters and first responders were on hand for station tours, face painting, fire hose games, a Jaws of Life demonstration, and a smoke house safety demo.
