The Marathon Fire Department will hold an informational meeting on Wednesday April 22nd. The meeting will be held at the Marathon Fire Station at 7:00 PM. Anyone interested in learning more about this project is welcome to attend. A presentation of the proposed plans will be given as well as a breakdown of the cost.
A rendering of the proposed Marathon Fire Station has been accepted by the Marathon Public Property Committee.
The Village Board has selected SEH from 16 companies to complete phase one architectural and engineering work for the Marathon City Fire Department. SEH brings lot of experience and knowledge to the task and will be working cooperatively with the Village and Fire Department representatives to produce a design concept and costs estimate for the April 7, 2009 referendum.
Over the next few weeks multiple meetings and discovery sessions will be held to finalize facility requirements and to begin the design process. The result will be a very functional, attactive, and durable facility that will serve the Village and surrounding townships for decades.
As the project progresses, additional information will be provided through this website.
The Tiger Cubs of cub scout pack 358 in Marathon had the opportunity to hold their monthly meeting at the Marathon fire station. The scouts took a station tour and got to check out all of the fire trucks. The scouts also had a brief lesson on fire safety and planned an escape route if a fire were to occur in their own home. The Marathon Fire station and Volunteers are available for station tours and fire prevention presentations. For more information email ryan@marathonfd.com
